MasterMind Marketing – The Easiest Way To Jump Start Any Business
It's been nearly ten years, but I can still remember it as though it were yesterday. That was the day I hung up my 9 to 5 mindset, and began my venture into the home-based business industry full time.
I had actually been operating my own business for nearly 5 years, but the difference was that I had always had a 9 to 5 job as a safety net. In the back of my mind I would simply tell myself that if my business didn't succeed, it was ok. I could always count on my job for a paycheck.
Needless to say, that safety net also came equipped with a security harness that would not allow my mindset to stray too far away from my comfort zone. In other words, I stayed right where I was most comfortable. Running my business as a hobby, and working the 9 to 5 job for the weekly paycheck.
All was good, or so I thought, but what I came to realize was that the 9 to 5 job came at a much higher cost than just the loss of 8 or 9 hours 5 days a week. The fact is that I lost something much more valuable than that.
Several years earlier, my wife and I had our first child. Being of the traditional mindset, my strategy was to work hard and work my way up, and after three years, the only thing that I had really accomplished was missing out on many of those first time events in my child's life because I was tied to the 9 to 5 mindset.
It hit me like a ton of bricks when I realized that those first three years were gone. I would never get them back, and the only thing that could prevent me from repeating the same mistake again was to make the decision to change my future, and that's exactly what I did by stepping out of my comfort zone and quitting my job. Now I'm not recommending that you go out and quit your job, but what I am asking you to do is determine what your safety net is. Do you have a security harness that is keeping you from stepping outside of your comfort zone?
Don't get me wrong. I went through my share of trials and challenges as I began the educational process of learning how to build a successful business online. The biggest factor in success or failure is in having a mentor, teacher, or even a mastermind team.
Working with people that are of the same mindset, and have the same desire for success will help you stay focused and on track. Seek out those who can teach you what you'll need to know to achieve the success you are searching for. If you want to master search engine marketing, contact those who seem to always be at the top of the search engine results pages. If you are looking to master web 2.0, find those that offer web 2.0 training and mentoring. The important thing to remember is that when you stop learning, you stop growing, and your business is no exception.
In a nutshell, more can be accomplished as a team, than as an individual, so make sure you are working with a team that is focused on the same end result.
